How therapy begins at IK Psychology

We use a structured intake and matching process to ensure clients are supported by the clinician best suited to their needs, availability, and therapeutic goals. This approach allows us to offer timely access to care while maintaining consistent clinical standards across the practice.

Step 1: New client intake

New clients begin by having a brief 10–15 minute exploratory call with one of our admin team which helps determine the best clinician match for you , and offers reassurance of shared clinical standards and oversight. This helps us understand what’s bringing you to therapy and what kind of support may be most helpful.

Step 2: Clinician matching

Based on the information you provide, we allocate you to the clinician within our practice who is the best clinical fit for your presentation.

Matching is guided by:

• the nature of the concerns you’re seeking support for

• clinician expertise and experience

• availability and appointment timing

Clients are not required to select a clinician themselves.

Step 3: Ongoing therapy

You’ll begin therapy with your allocated clinician. All clinicians work under the clinical direction and supervision of Isabella Kidd, Principal Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Director. While Isabella does not provide ongoing therapy to new clients, she remains closely involved in maintaining the clinical quality and direction of care within the practice.
